Charades generator
Pick a deck, hand the phone to the actor, and tap for the next prompt. Nothing repeats until the deck runs out.
Tap “Next prompt” to start.
How to use it
- Choose the deck that fits the youngest person playing.
- Hand the phone to the actor and have them tap Next prompt where nobody else can see.
- Tap Start 60 seconds and act it out. No talking, no pointing at things in the room.
- When the team guesses it, or the time runs out, pass the phone to the next team.
Which deck for which group
Little kids is for ages four to seven: single actions and animals a child can act without being told how. An adult can whisper the prompt to children who cannot read yet.
Everyday actions, Animals and Jobs suit mixed-age teams. A grandparent and an eight-year-old can both act “changing a duvet cover”, and both will be funny doing it.
Party chaos is for teens and adults. The prompts are whole situations, so they take longer and get louder. Christmas is for the afternoon when everyone is too full to move far.
Rules worth agreeing first
Decide whether the actor may skip a prompt. One skip per turn keeps things moving without letting anyone dodge everything hard. Decide too whether sound effects count as talking. For the full rules, the standard gestures and ways to change the game for big groups, see how to play Charades.
Questions people ask
How many prompts are there?
204 across 6 decks. Each deck is shuffled when you choose it, and no prompt repeats until you have seen the whole deck.
Can I use these for drawing games?
Yes. The animals, jobs and everyday actions decks work well for any draw-and-guess game. The party chaos deck is harder to draw than to act.
How long should each turn be?
One minute suits most groups, and it is what the built-in timer counts. Give younger children 90 seconds by letting the timer run out and counting the last half minute out loud.
Does it work without a signal?
Once the page has loaded, yes. The prompts are stored in the page, so you can keep dealing in a field, a church hall or a basement.
